How to make a DIY Mardi Gras Mask

Gather the family for some messy Fat Tuesday fun! Just grab some paint, ribbons, beads, and glitter and get festive! Make sure you have plenty of Wet Ones Big & Strong around to clean the glitter off everyone’s hands when you’re done.

Celebrating Mardi Gras is fun for kids and adults alike. Mask wearing is deeply ingrained in the cultural and historical traditions of this New Orleans celebration and often an essential part of Mardi Gras costumes.

To get you started with creating some of your own Mardi Grad traditions, we've provided a printable mask template. Print out the template on cardstock paper and then go to town with paint and embellishments to create a mask that showcases your own unique sense of self. 

 

STEP ONE
Choose your favorite color cardstock paper.

STEP TWO
Print out the mask from template provided and cut it out.

STEP THREE
Paint to desired design and let dry.

STEP FOUR
Add embellishments with glitter, beads and ribbons. Mardi Gras celebrations are very colorful, so make it festive!

STEP FIVE
Clean your hands with Wet Ones!

STEP SIX
Put on the final touches and you're ready to rock your DIY masquerade ball!
